Getting the Hang of it
We think 2013 is off to a great start! We are really excited to be working with the Warman Elementary School to raise funds for a gym divider curtain (January). We know how busy the school is with so many families moving to Warman and wanted to help out with something that would really make a positive impact for the kids attending the school. We think that they will be very happy to have more opportunities for gym time and we are looking forward to hosting this fundraiser. We have committed to donating the full amount needed to purchase the divider curtain which is around $9,000. This will be our largest single donation to date. It’s hard to believe that this all started with a simple idea to sell Smokehaus meat packages as a one-time fundraiser!
This year we plan to host a Public Skating Day (free of charge for attendees) on Sunday, January 27th at the Diamond Arena, The Night the Ladies Left (April 20th) and Halloween Family Dance (Oct 27th). We are also hoping to hold a new event this year that will be for Dads and their Daughters (Nov 17th).
We feel like we are starting to get the hang of things now that we are into our 3rd year as a group. We work really well as a team, and I still am amazed at the commitment our members show to our group. We are happy to welcome new members to our group at any time throughout the year.
I look forward to seeing how our events turn out this year and am excited for the opportunities that will arise to support the new ‘City’ of Warman and the community within it.
